Morristown Jewish Center

Shabbat

The Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael is a warm, welcoming, participatory and egalitarian congregation. When we do not have a Bnai Mitzvah or other special services, we use the cozy Willner Chapel for Shabbat and Holy Day services.  When we need more space, we use the Main Sanctuary.  We include a significant amount of congregational singing in our services and encourage participation and involvement by those attending services.  Shabbat evening services vary in time and you should check the calendar for the time of this week’s service.  Shabbat morning services are held at 9:30 a.m.

We use the Shabbat (and Holy Day) Sim Shalom for Shabbat and Holy Day services and implement the Imahot (Matriarchs) in accordance with a Teshuva written by Rabbi David Golinkin, the head of the Schechter Institute in Israel.
