The MJCBY Men’s Club supports the broader community with a variety of outreach activities:

• Annual Blood Drive

Avodah to the Synagogue

Providing the MJCBY community with assistance whenever there is important work to be done:

• Serve as ushers at High Holy Day Services
• Construct the congregation’s sukkah each year
• Assist in synagogue clean-up
• Participate in religious services
• Sponsor the Teffilin and Tallit program for our B’nai Mitzvah
• Arrange seating and furniture for the High Holy Days
• Provide ice cream and toppings at the Simchat Torah celebration
• Sponsor b’nai mitzvah gifts

Social

Not neglecting the social needs of our membership, we provide a variety of fraternal and family-oriented events. Among the events planned for this year:

• Men’s Club Book Club
• Scotch and Cigars (and hot dogs and knishes) in the Sukkah
• Planetarium event
• Pre-Passover wine tasting and sale
• Bicycling events
• Road trip to kosher sports bar

Learning & Education

The Men’s Club sponsors timely lectures and monthly programs of interest to our congregation. Guest speakers include:

• Politicians
• Government officials
• Medical professionals
• Journalists
• Authors
• Sports personalities
