On Sunday, March 19th we will be holding our 2nd Annual Mitzvah Day event. This is an opportunity for ALL to help our less fortunate neighbors. By ALL, I mean everyone from toddler to Senior Citizen.
For toddlers, there will be an opportunity to decorate Breakfast Bags that will be handed out to Soup Kitchen guests. For younger children, there will be an opportunity to write messages to those we serve. Older children and adults will assemble those Breakfast Bags and PAK bags (PAK stands for Purposeful Acts of Kindness). We will also be assembling
backpacks for newly enrolled HeadStart students.
We also need monetary contributions to pay for all the supplies we will be using. It costs about $30 to complete a HeadStart backpack, up to $3 for a Breakfast Bag (when purchased in volume) and about $10 for a PAK bag. Checks can be written to MJCBY with the notation “Mitzvah Day.” This will ensure that we can fulfill our mission for that day and going forward.
