Friday Night Services
Generally, on the first three weeks of the month, Friday Night services are held at 6:15 pm to allow families to enjoy Shabbat dinner after services. From May through September we use musical instruments during Kabbalat Shabbat.
On the fourth week of the month, services are generally held at 8:15 pm to accommodate those who are unable to attend an early Friday Night service. However, this schedule can vary and, therefore, we recommend that you check the calendar on this website or contact our office (973) 538-9292 or Execdir@mjcby.org before 2:00 pm on Friday to confirm the time of services.
We also hold various special Friday Night programs including Barechu & You in the spring and summer (where services and dinner are held in a local park), Shabbat in the Neighborhood (where services are run by groups in conjunction with dinner at someone’s home) and other special programs.
