Religious LIfe

The Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael is a warm, welcoming, participatory and egalitarian congregation. We use the Shabbat (and Holy Day) Sim Shalom for Shabbat and Holy Day services and implement the Imahot (Matriarchs) in accordance with a Teshuva written by Rabbi David Golinkin, the head of the Schechter Institute in Israel. On the High Holy Days, we use the Lev Shalem Machzor. We include a significant amount of congregational singing in our services and encourage participation and involvement by those attending services.

We support a full range of Life Cycle Events both through our clergy and lay leaders. Our Chevra Kadisha (holy society) assists families through the loss of loved ones.
