MELISSA WEINER


Melissa Weiner joined the staff of Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael as Director of Lifelong Learning in March 2000. In May 2003, Melissa added the Director of Education to her position.

As Director of Education and Lifelong Learning, Melissa oversees the Educational programs of the synagogue, including the Religious School. Melissa has a BA from Brandeis University, and her MA from Brown University, and has studied in Israel.

She has previously served Reform, Reconstructionist  and Conservative synagogues in Massachusetts, Missouri, and New Jersey. She has created curriculum for CAJE in St. Louis and presented workshops on Family Education in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Missouri.  Some of her many programs at The Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael, such as the Jewseum, Lions of Jerusalem Day, and Lech Lecha have been honored with both regional and national Solomon Schecter Awards.

Melissa was the Recipient of 2007-2008 United Synagogue Conservative Judaism NJ Region Norman H. Winter Professional Excellence Award.  She resides in Randolph with her husband, Rich and their three children, Emily, Anna and Jake.
